Kauai Time
Here is an example of the Kauai Time clock using local Koa. It is powered by a lava river stone plucked out of the stream next to our house. The Kauai Time is a simple build and an excellent beginner's clockworks. Even though it is simple to build, the Kauai Time puts on a delightful kinetic display. With that large, unique club foot escape wheel at the top, and the pendulum swinging close by, there is always plenty of wonderful motion throughout this clock. The finished clockworks has a relaxing and gentle movement that is easy to live with and freeing to the spirit. The Kauai Time in my plans is designed to run normally, but my friend Adrian Iredale built his own unique version of this clock. Adrian's "Kauai Time" actually runs backward!
