Arts and Crafts Clock
This is my Arts and Crafts clock, designed to be made from solid hardwoods. |
The Arts and Crafts is an elegant electromechanically impulsed clockwork. The clock you see here is solid oak. The dark wood is stained oak, and the light wood is natural oak. |
Plywood can be used in creating the wheels, however in this plan I show you how to create segmented solid wood wheels of superior strength, and since there are no pinions in the going train, this design is almost impermeable to the effects of changes in humidity. |
A and C's lovely hands and face. |
There are no arbors connecting the front and back frames. This clock is uniquely designed to be modular. The front frame carries the clockworks, and the back frame contains the pendulum and pawl assembly. |
The overall appearance of the Arts and Crafts clock is one of elegant openess and airiness, yet the foundational flair at the bottom of each leg gives the sense of a solid connectedness. |
