Rail Fence and Basketweave Quilts (Computer Generated!!) 48 X 54" |
||
Here it is! Quilting 101! Even if you haven't sewn since eighth grade,
you can learn how to make a patchwork comforter. This beginner pattern
is fun, quick and easy to learn. The following is a supply list that you
should bring to class with you: |
||
Supplies to bring to class:
1. Sewing machine in working order. Bring extra sewing machine needles, size 80/12 or 90/14. (Don't forget bobbin case, bobbin, foot pedal and manual) 2. Rotary cutter, mat and ruler. 3. Thread in neutral color like beige or black (if your fabrics are mostly black.) Cotton thread is preferred, but bring what you have. 4. General sewing supplies: scissors, seam ripper, straight pins, needles 5. 2 skeins embroidery floss for tying. I recommend lighter colors as embroidery floss in dark colors will bleed when wet. You will also need a sharp large-eyed needle for the six-stranded floss. 6. Fabric --100% cotton only please. (We will learn why cotton is preferable for quilting.) Here is the yardage you will need: Theme Print (something
jazzy): 3/4 yard You can make either of the quilts shown with these fabrics; we'll discuss how-to in class.
